Get plenty of rest. Sleep—anywhere. On or beneath the bed, in a sunny spot, under the covers, by the window, upside-down, on the couch, in the middle of the floor, on top of the refrigerator, in the closet, on your back, in a ball, in a box. The details of this story are not necessarily a silver lining but this woman's attempt to tell her story about what is going on in Wuhan has captured China. Her courage amidst extreme repression and censorship to tell the truth is remarkable.

From the Mother Nature Network | March 19, 2020 "There is so much fear, and perhaps rightfully so, about COVID-19. And, what if…we subscribe to the philosophy that life is always working out for us, that there is an intelligence far greater than humans at work… That all is interconnected. What if… the virus is here to help us?"

People are finding working from home has some furry challenges...
Cate Blanchett in Mrs. America (above) beginning on Wednesdays in April. See more...
Cinta, a lively Orangutan from Borneo demonstrates good hand washing technique (and yes, she is not technically a monkey). Watch the video here...
A video from The Guardian of Italians singing across balconies to lift their spirits while quarrantined. Gives me goosebumps everytime. Italy is a very social country making the lockdown that much harder.
Some of these are silly but if you need a place to start here you go...
Reposted from the USAToday: March 16 Disregarding all mandated group guideline size limits fourteen elephants recently wandered into a village in China and raided the corn wine depot. Apparently elephants are quite fond of alcohol but napping is a post binge must. Read the full story here...
**apparently this article has since been debunked by National Geographic but I'm going to leave it up anyway. :( With all the quarantines and decreased work activity the air has had a moment to clean. The canals in Venice have also been seen to be clearer.

the liningsAmidst all the bad news, cancellations, and fear lately there are more than a few silver linings... although you have to dig a little deeper these days. The human spirit hasn't been crushed...just beaten down a little. In a time when we're not supposed to get too close to one another maybe we'll have to reach each other through our hearts (and humor). Hopefully some of these stories will do that. Please pass along any stories you have (contact form)...I'd love to hear from you and the good you've found during this global crisis. I'll post as many as I can. Take care. ArchivesCategories |
